9. Dream Job?
I'd love to take blogging up as a full time job but I'd love to be a writer as well.

10. If magic was real what would be your power?
Telekinesis, you know like Matilda. I like the prospect of being able to tip a glass full of water over without using my hands and making books fly.

If you should ever encounter me... ( Fiction Friday)

Side effects
There's a few things this you must know if you are ever to encounter me.
1.My name is Lola.
2. I'm 99.9 percent sure I'm insane.
3.I should not be held accountable for anything I do in a social situation.
4. You're guaranteed an awkward silence.
5. I will forever avoid your gaze.
6. Our possible conversation will only consist of incoherent gibberish.
7. You will be embarrassed by me.

And if by some peculiar reason you manage to survive this encounter it's probably because you’re:
A. My parents, and over the 13 years I have lived on Earth, you've learnt to accept my weirdness.
B. You're an inanimate object.
C. And then there's a slight chance your an alien from planet Zedexfa and you know nothing about human interaction.

For those of whom will not successfully make it through this encounter,I must warn you of some side effects. There are a few, so umm you might want to jot these down.
These include but are not limited to: severe recollections of our meet up, constant cringe attacks, perpetual embarrassment, social suicide, clumsiness the fear of humans, the inability to create actual sentences, obsessing over unicorns, random outbursts of made up words, speaking to yourself, the loss of hand to eye coordination,  the ability to do sports, strange impulses to hug trees, the fear of really small animals and biscuits.

But I pray that you don't fear these effects, as the chances are that you will never meet me. Unless you're a really determined spy or some sort of creep addicted to tracking down teens. I hope you are neither of these, for both your safety and mine. But if you do end up meeting me, there's just one thing you might really want to know.   I can teach you how to fail at being human.

Check out Arushee's post, where I first learn't about fiction Friday.

Lets talk...

         ...Cookies with Star Girl.

When I first met cookie she was a funny little thing,
She was incredibly round and incredibly thin.
She wore caramel hats and rarely clothed,
She'd never be somewhere alone.
Cookies. Circular discs of pure undeniable bliss.  How I love cookies ,in fact I often consider myself a cookie connoisseur .
Here are my top 4 favorite cookies.

1) Maryland gooeys chocolate chip cookies.  Crunchy cookie outing filled with a silky and gooey chocolaty center certified to make your mouth water. You many find yourself addicted to these cookies.

2) Smarties cookies. Sweet and chocolaty multicolored  pieces of heaven embedded into a soft and chewy cookie.

3) Double chocolate chip cookies- The cookie designed for chocolate lovers. Extra chocolaty, double the bliss.

4) Ginger bread cookies. Not only amazing for the festive time but suitable for the autumn and winter seasons. Tasty and flavorful.

There are so many cookies I haven't tried, what is your favorite type of cookie and are there any you recommend?

Guest post

Hello fellow reader, how do you do?

Today I will be sharing a guest post with you brilliantly written by the amazing Rachel from  Golden Ducklings
So, here we go.

Her yellow eyes,
The orb of the night
Shone upon her wired locks
Veiled with grey dust and rusty coppers.

Strangled by the wrist,
My pulse pumping, halting, stinging.
Gone breathes, suffocating, I plead and beg for
People of mine to salvage the wreck she has become.

Slyly, impishly she schemes.
Whispers, into the dreams
That were before that night,
Her bones, crumbling with please.

The jaunty woman skips through
long murky blades of grass,
The twilight is her shadow,
Hauling strands of mine and poise.

Deranged and mad,
She cannot stop,
Albeit she stops those from afar,
Those whom deliver me from doom and fog.

Flinging me to and fro,
She screams.'I can't, I can't', I plead.
My cries are loud, but hers are peaking.

Howling, bawling, bleeding,
We hath been wounded with her
High-pitched glares and foggy breath.
Gruesome contemplation worsens it.

Her yellow eyes,
The orb of the night,
Her inflection, it wasn't heard,
But the eyes, they, they told me all.

A message to mini me

A post in which I address my younger self.
Warning, it may be rather long.

Dear mini me, it's older you. The slightly taller,( although everyone thinks I'm the size of a smurf) totally insane version of you. You're now 13, really socially awkward and a terrible drawer. But on the bright side you're now able to color inside the lines...almost. You're now good at maths, and that's saying something for a girl who could never write then number 3 the right way round till you were 4.

You still manage to embarrass yourself on a daily basis at school, but it's ok because if you pretend that you're doing your school tie for about five minutes people just look away. You still don't know how to act around people and you can't stand spaces with huge crowds. You really like poetry and day dreaming. Maybe too much, some even find it rather creepy that you can stare at something for ages without blinking. You have amazing friends but your incapable of saying anything without laughing awkwardly afterwards.

You'd have probably gone insane if you hadn't started blogging and found a place to express your creativity. You're always making songs and some people find it annoying. Your sense of humor is still really weird but your friends laugh at our jokes anyway. You're amazing even though you deny it all the time. Oh, and you never really did learn how to accept compliments, you're still really awkward when it comes to that. And you're also now totally obsessed with the internet.  You have a mild obsession with Grant Gustin a.k.a the cutest guy alive. hahaha( You don't get the pun do you?) another example of your horrible humor. You never were never really able to work on that were you?

But mini me I'm hoping that you smile because you've accomplishes so many things, you've become someone that I am proud of.You have done things that you had told yourself you'd never do and you're still trying, still going strong. Still attempting to find yourself and succeed in life.

There's a few things I wish you would have done. I wish you would have spoken up for yourself more. I wish you would have stop trying to be like an adult and just let yourself be a child. I wish you would have talked to people instead of blocking them out in fear of being judged. I wish you would have known that your opinions are valued. And  I really wish you would have taken opportunities presented to you. But those are things I'm working on now, so don't you worry.

So mini me, I hope that you know life is good and that you will become what you had always wanted. A fashion designer, a journalist, a dancer, a singer, an actor, a poet, a writer, an inventor, a scientist. A good person. Remember all those times you would come to school choosing a different career, know that you can do all of these because the world is an unlimited orb of opportunities and with hard work your guaranteed success.

Yours sincerely Stella. That star up in the sky. ( A shooting star reference)

P.S. Unicorns do exist, I saw one last Tuesday.

I hope you enjoy this post and I'd love it if you wanted to do a message to mini me as well.Link it down below so I can read it if you do.

Project H- week#5

Oh, hello there. Do you notice anything different?
I changed my blog design. I wanted something different and here is what I have produced ,but lets get onto the real purpose of this post.

A post in which I give thanks.
This coming week, it's all about thanking the things that make you happy.
So here is my list.

Thanks to the morning sky for brightening up those dull moments.
Thanks to blogging for allowing me to share my thoughts
Thanks to teddy bears for being so cute and huggable ( not that I even have one pfffft)
Thanks to school for providing a safe place to learn.
Thanks to books for creating an escape from life.
Thanks to Chocolate and chicken and Doritos and sweets for always being there.
Thanks to being alive.
Thanks to the lord for guiding me through rough times.
Thanks to being hopelessly in love with every cute dog I see.
Thanks to the the existence of laughter, life would be boring without it.
Thanks to everyone reading this post right now, you are amazing. When I first started blogging I felt like no one really wanted to listen to what I had to say and all the ideas I had, well they had nowhere to go. Because of all of you I have been able to meet so many different people and learn so many new things.( Now should commence the really soppy music and all the feels.) Can we all just pretend we're having one huge virtual group hug right now.

What do you want to give thanks to?

And yes I know it's not Monday but yet again I was really eager to post this. Oh and I've now got this song stuck in my head, can we talk about how creepy the video is? The message of the song is brilliant but what's with the video?

Jollygirl's blog party and my love of chocolate

Partaaaaay. Lets pop out that bottle of virtual sparkling water and get partying.
Click here to join the partaaay.

The questions and answers.

How did you come up with the name of your blog?
I was obsessed with shooting stars as a child and I..... You know what click here for the full story.
Favorite party snack? Why?
Don't make me choose, maybe Doritos.
What type of chocolate is your favorite? Milk, dark, white, or other?
Milk chocolate. I really like galaxy cookie crumble.
Describe your favorite memory?
I have way too many. There was this one time when I left the kitchen and I had put my snicker on the table. When I came back one of my siblings was there taking a ginormous bite out of it and I legitimately freaked out and tried to smack the snicker out of his hand. We joked about it after though. You should never come between me and chocolate, it might not end well.
What is your favorite post that I have published on this blog?
I chose 2 .

Just type whatever you want in this section. You can answer a question, type random letters, share a fact about yourself,etc..
I'm fond of blurting out random sentences and phrases.

Tips on blogging.( What I've learnt so far.)

1) Only blog if you have a passion for the subject you want to blog about. You may loose interest fairly quickly if you're not blogging about something that you like.

2) Patience is key. In the first month of blogging I felt as if no one wanted to read my blog and my page views seemed to reflect that but after a while I saw an increase in that amount.

3) Comment on other people's blogs. Comment meaningful things and actually read the post. If the post is about dancing don't comment about fishing and there's nothing wrong with linking your blog in the comments so people can check your's out.

4) Make your titles relevant to the subject of your post but make them catchy and or funny. Something that people would love to read.

5) Keep things original Write what you want to write. If there's a popular trend by all means follow it but stay true to what you envision your blog to be.

6)Write to inform, entertain, share and educate. My blogging motto.

7) Keep posts short. (although my post may contradict this statement.) When someone reads a post it needs to be short to make it easily readable and keep the reader interested. Although this doesn't mean that you can't write long posts(trust me I do it all the time).

8) Keep a blogging schedule. Post consistently ( yet again my blog is a horrible example of this.)

9) It's ok to write a post a head of time if you know that you might not be able to write a post that week.

10)Guest post on other people's blogs if you can. This is a great way to get your blog known to others. Post something you are passionate about and that people would kill to read. Literally that is.

So here are a few of the things I have learn't from my very few months of blogging and by no means am I an expert on blogging but I hope this post provided you with some insight if you really wanted to start a blog.

Memories- Childhood bliss.

The time I thought I'd rule. The second post in my memories series. Click here for the first..
not mine

As a child I wanted to rule because I didn't ever want to do chores. Chores were a nuisance. I had way better things to do, feed my dolls non-existent food, talk to my imaginary friends and pester my parents for snacks...constantly. I don't know about you but these things were rather exhausting. So I concluded that I must never lift a finger, it'd only pose a threat to my daily routine. Which was basically a combination of sleeping, eating, being annoying and more sleeping.

My routine was sacred and when the day came that I was inevitably told that I should start doing chores ( which only included tidying my room once in a while), I wasn't happy in the slightest. So what did I do? Throw a tantrum. Nope. Storm off. Nope. Accept it. Hell no. I decided I'd become the Queen. Wait...what? I would become Queen. Because in the mind of an eight year old becoming royalty equaled zero chores. I was told many times that I couldn't become Queen because we already had one. I'd always reply " She's a very logical women and we can share the throne".

We never ended up sharing. So after I realized I could never become royalty. And after long nights of crying I made other plans. If I couldn't rule the country ,I'd rule the house.I would sit in my throne ( Any random chair I could find) watch some TV and just do nothing. That lasted about 3 minutes.
I did in fact end up tidying my room and my ruling was short lived.

Did you do anything as a child to get out of doing chores?

Pssst, check out my new editions to my inspirations page.

So what's the task for this upcoming week. You'll find it under this adorably cute picture of a turtle that I found.

Write a song about a mongoose who fell in love with a mule.
Run around the house screaming coconuts.
Write a poem about a dog that stalked you.
Throw sweets at people ( in a loving and gentle way.)
Hug people without any reasoning.
Start dancing randomly.

Be free and don't let anyone limit you this week.
Happiness is all about expression and letting the inner you out, so express yourself.

The art of writing short stories.

Whilst reading a guest post on Sammie the stargirl's blog by Emily I was inspired to write my own 110 word story. Here it is dear reader, I'm not even sure if it's 110 words.

There are two things you must acknowledge in this life. The light and the dark . You must never confuse these things or allow them to mingle. I'd tell you why but what fun would that be, if I ruined all the mystery. There are certain things the mind can go without knowing, I'll let you decide if this is one of those things. A likely possibility would be that you. Yes you, are going to purposely allow these things to mingle just to see what the outcome is. I did and where did I find myself? In the bottom of a  dark abyss with a llama I've named Lucas.

I don't know whether you can class this as a story but I had so much fun writing it.  You might even want to try write your own.

Awards and complete randomness

Hello dear reader. I was recently nominated by the amazing Candence from Words Passing You By for this award and I wanted to say a huge thank you.
So without a further ado, here are my answers.

1. When was the last time you laughed and why?
I think it was today when my friend started making a beat and I wrote a song to go with it. The song basically only consisted of the word Yoda over and over again, which apparently is weird. When I turned around all I could see was a row of really confused faces, and that made me laugh.

2. Do you put songs on repeat when you write?
All the time. My favorite one to put on repeat is Photograph by Ed Sheeran.

3. What is the weather like outside?
Windy and really really cold.

4. If you could do anything right now, what would it be?
Find a unicorn....wait what? I'm not sure, maybe a quiet and peaceful stroll outside if the weather was good.

5. What is your current favorite anything right now? (song, quote, book, movie, etc???)
My favorite TV programme, which is coming back with some new episodes, is The Flash and I think I'm obsessed.

6. What makes your heart soar?
Food. The little things; that incredibly cute dog that came up to me on my way to school. Life's beauty, hidden in the trees and the clouds and the smiles that people wear.

7. What is your favorite picture at the moment?
This one

Me and my friends took this picture yesterday,  As you can see I'm in the middle looking all smart in my tie. ( Me trying to be funny yet again)

8. Bible verse you always go back to?

not mine.

9. Favorite kind of ice cream?
Vanilla because I'm basic like that.

10. What is something you're really excited for?
I'm going into year 9 soon and I'm so pumped for a new year of amazing opportunities and I'll finally be taking all the lessons I enjoy.

Who do I nominate?
I'm not sure if these people have been already nominated.

So what are my questions:

1. Who is your celebrity crush?
2. Where do you find the most comfort during the day?
3. Do you like unicorns? ( I had to ok, it's an obsession.)
4. What is your best childhood memory?
5. What is your favorite song?
6. What is/was your favorite school subject?
7.What would be your perfect day?
8.If you were to write a book what would it be about?
9.What is your favorite joke?
10.Have you ever solved a Rubik's cube and how long did it take you?

You can answer these questions as well and link it below, I hope you enjoy answering these questions.

Tell me this,
Can you define what beauty is?
Because I've been searching for a meaning,
And I think I've found it,
Yet I'm not quite sure if it's worth believing.
Because I've been told that beauty lies,
Somewhere only on the outside.
It doesn't lie in words untold,
It's something that only a few will hold.
It all depends on how you look,
Even if your personality sucks.
It's all about,
If you're face is flawless,
Or your style is on fleek.
The things you own,
The people your see.
The way you talk,
And how you act,
It's all about fiction,
Who cares about facts.
Your image is all,
But what about heart?,
We're loosing touch of who we are.
Well to me beauty is what lies on the inside,
And yes it sounds cliche,
But I'll risk it,
Because I know,
We're all beautiful in our own way.

I'm hoping you enjoyed reading this poem and I'd really love to hear you're feed back on it.
I also want you to remember that you are beautiful and it doesn't matter what people think because aesthetics aren't everything and what lies inside is the most important thing.

Project H -week#3

It's week three of project H. Yaaaas. I'm hyped up on orange juice so expect nothing normal to come from this post.

So this week's challenge is to make something for someone. Anything at all. It could be totally random. Create something for the benefit of someone else. This week I made this for my friend. You could also use this idea if you wanted.

Apologies for the horrible picture quality.

In the letter are some memories that my friend will hopefully find funny.
For example - Remember that time you planned my wedding.

There's a long story behind this but I'm going to be annoying and not tell you what it is.

I really hope you enjoy this challenge and comment down below any suggestions for upcoming project H challenges.

Ketchup clouds by Annabel Pitcher - A British Book Challenge review.

not mine.

Secrets, romance, murder and lies: Zoe shares a terrible secret in a letter to a stranger on death row in this second novel from the author of the bestselling debut, My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece.

Fifteen-year-old Zoe has a secret—a dark and terrible secret that she can't confess to anyone she knows. But then one day she hears of a criminal, Stuart Harris, locked up on death row in Texas. Like Zoe, Stuart is no stranger to secrets. Or lies. Or murder.

Full of heartache yet humor, Zoe tells her story in the only way she can—in letters to the man in prison in America. Armed with a pen, Zoe takes a deep breath, eats a jam sandwich, and begins her tale of love and betrayal. Goodreads description.

I was rather impatient when it came to reading this book, I found myself flipping through the pages at lightning speed. I was engrossed by the plot and the amazing dialogue between the characters. My favorite pieces of dialogue took place between Zoe and Aaron. At times I found myself getting irritated at Zoe and her actions but that also kept me reading. That, the love triangle, her dysfunctional family and the mystery.

The story begins by Zoe writing her first letter to Mr Harris. Parts of the letters switch from the present tense and the past when Zoe would begin retelling the events leading up to her big secret. There were some parts that umm... well I wouldn't really recommend for children but a part from that I found the book fine.

My favorite character would have to be Aaron. The things that he says, the way that he acts. The coolness about him and his intellect. I was instantly drawn to him from his first appearance in the book.

So all in all this was a great book. I give it a 4.9 out of 5. I took 0.1 of a star away because there were no unicorns. I'm joking, excuse my horrible sense of humor. It looses 0.1 of a star purely because I couldn't figure out the relevance of the title to the book. It's a very intriguing title but I'm not quite sure what part of the book is related to the title.

Love and other stuff.

Love letters to you #1

An Autumn anthem
By the fire we'll reside,
On a cold Autumn night.
With our mugs and our comfy gloves.
Where there's no trace of fear
And no rules to adhere to.
Here we'll sing to our hearts content.
And we'll laugh and we'll play,
Reminisce of the day
when we were young and we first met.
The time we joked around,
Built a tree house,
Wore crowns,
And pretended we were royalty.
Found peace in the silence,
Between our souls,
When we didn't have each other to hold.
And we'd cross our fingers,
whisper promises
There was no stronger love than this.

These were the times we vowed we wouldn't forget.

I hope you enjoyed my first post in another series; love letters to you.

The reality is...

I'm not perfect. I'm pretty certain no one is. There are thing I'm good at and there's those things that I fail at terribly. I often find myself compiling those things into a never ending list. It's a frequent and stupid thing but I do it nevertheless. So the list continues growing and to me that's very worrying. A lot more than I thought it did. I've gotten into the habit of dwelling on these things and comparing myself to the people that succeed where I fail. I would love to do everything perfectly the first time but I know I won't always be good at everything. I won't always know every answer to every question. I won't always be sociable and I won't always be the person people think they know .I'm human and sometimes I'm stupid, sometimes I'm rude, sometimes I come of as a know it all.  Sometimes I just don't care and I'd like to be left alone. I'm not a superior species. I don't dance like a pro, neither am I a maths genius. I'm not good at sports( trust me on this) and I'm not Charles Dickens or Einstein. I'm not always going to smile and be happy.

So why do some people like to presume they know what I'm capable of?I could either exceed your expectations or come so far below them that I'm barely visible. I can't control how people think about me and frankly I'd love not to care. But I do. I just do and I know I could change this but it's a lot harder when your not sat behind a computer screen writing. I've found that reality sucks but I'm getting used to it. And whilst I try to be as realistic as I can, I like to keep my imagination as wild as it can be. It makes life a lot more fun.

I'm back at school and I realized all the things I hated about it. ( I also thought about the things I loved about it.)  I'm going to class this as a rant.
